Humility in Prayer

Upon digging further, I also found 1 John 5:14-15, “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” So it’s not just whatever we ask; it’s whatever we ask according to His will. Our confidence in prayer then can be held in promises He has already given us in Scripture, or occasionally devine personal revelation. But that left me lost about prayers for healing or personal requests. What is the point praying for our health or desires, when we have no power to change God’s will?

With Father Through Fire

Smoke swirled around the cavern from the flaming logs that had been scattered. Intense heat burned the back of Zoe’s neck. She screamed, but fell to the ground and rolled, putting her hair out. She felt behind her at the missing 7-inches of wavy auburn hair. She sucked in a sharp breath through the string of the burns, and held her lower back. “Dad?” There was a cough and a groan. Zoe waved the smoke out of her eyes and looked around. “Dad!”

NaNoWriMo Day 9 Review

Not to shabby today. Even with the wedding, I managed to write about 300 words. I started working on Chapter 6 for Prince of Slaves! It's turning into something a bit different than I had originally thought, but I still like it. Originally, I had planned to write shorter scenes for Prince of Slaves and... Continue Reading →

NaNoWriMo Day 8 Review

I'm starting this Day 8 review with talking about Day 7. Yesterday, I took a writing Sabath we'll say. It wasn't intentional, I was just super busy. Unfortunately, Day 8 hasn't been much better. I did write 200 words, though. And tomorrow I have a wedding to do to. Exciting, but not helpful when it... Continue Reading →

NaNoWriMo Day 6 Review

I got words on the page! Despite being crazy tired and morning sick, I wrote 100ish words, and I must say I liked those 100ish words. Also, I have not been updating my word count on NaNoWriMo's website which will make it look like I write all my words in one day, but oh well.... Continue Reading →

NaNoWriMo Day 5 Review

I wrote 250 words today. I want to say it's pretty sad, but considering how tired I was with us changing sleep schedules and all. And I had work today, I clean like a mai . Isn't too shabby. I think I was kind of hoping I could write more when I got back from... Continue Reading →

NaNoWriMo Review Day 4

Today, I feel like I did really well. Let's see, not including this post, I've written about 1,300 words! About 200 of those were by hand, planning my next short story. A little more than 500 words written in my short story, and almost 670 words this morning in the devotional I wrote. What's been... Continue Reading →

YHWH Shalom

(God of Peace)     This morning I woke up with my ten-month-old daughter and figured I would be able to get her some food and relax with Jesus. As you can probably guess, that didn’t happen. I did go into the kitchen and started making breakfast. As the eggs were cooking, I washed up the... Continue Reading →

NaNoWriMo Review Day 2

Okay, okay. don't be mad. Honestly, I've been worse about writing these first few days of NaNoWriMo than I have all month. I'm suppose to post a new short story tomorrow (technically later today), and I wrote half a page. Which, I guess if it's a 2,000 word short story that should be 1/8th. Could be worse.
